Starting from a simple idea of façade refurbishment, Pilet & Renaud took the initiative to go further with the renovation of Gutenberg 3-3bis, aiming to improve its energy performance. The property management company thus included in its specifications the insulation of the exterior walls of this historic building dating from 1919: a 3 cm layer of aerogel-based insulating plaster was applied to all three façades of the building.
In parallel with this work, the grilles and other metal elements were repainted, and the shutters were completely replaced and rebuilt in the traditional style—still in wood—to maintain their eco-friendly character.
With the goal of combining sustainable renovation and aesthetics, we succeeded in restoring the original charm of Gutenberg 3-3bis while reducing energy loss through its now-insulated surfaces by a factor of three. This success is thanks to our teams, as well as the trusted contractors who accompanied us throughout the project, representing a total of eight trades, and to the owner who agreed to support us financially in this endeavor.
