This Pilet & Renaud development houses 46 apartments and two commercial units in a building with two separate entrances at the heart of Plainpalais – Jonction. It was built on an old carpark with a building on either side, one disused and the other belonging to the parish of Sainte-Clotilde. This was a challenging project for several reasons. From an administrative point of view, the building was built across two separate plots, one belonging to the city of Geneva (and thus enjoying planning rights) and the other to the parish of Sainte-Clotilde. The design was also problematic, however, as there was limited space to work with, and the project included renovating the nearby bell tower. The result has proven a great success: renting out the new apartments and commercial units, one of which has been turned into a crèche, has given the parish a regular source of income for years to come.
