Living in Grottes

With its Gaudí-inspired buildings and its small, chalet-style houses, Grottes remains a quirky enclave in the heart of the city. This former working-class area owes its unique charm to the locals who, a few years ago, campaigned for it to be regenerated rather than demolished. Here, between Servette and the station, we find artists and craftspeople in a village-like atmosphere that makes the Grottes one of the hotspots of alternative Geneva.
